Iran Pharmaceutical Development and Investment Company (IPDIC) was registered in June 1983 at Dept. for Registration of Companies, as a Private Joint Stock Company.

In the beginning, its main activities were within the frameworks of provision of its articles of association, including investment in production commercial , pharmaceutical and food stuff companies and all their projects and side industries, as well as sale of stocks, investment and doing monetary and credit transactions between themselves and affiliated companies. Upon the decisions of Organization's Management on establishment of a pharmaceutical production company, the project for setting up Darousaz Factory was started and the production unit of this company, under the same title, started its operation in 1997 in Rasht Industrial Zone. This project has been established on a land area of about 15 ha. And has total building area of 40000 square meters.

The products of this Company in the beginning were mainly different types of ampoules. In 1998 the Company employing 79% of its nominal capacity 9 107 million ampoules / year) succeeded to produce 85 million ampoules, which replaced a part of imports. These were produced for the first time in Iran and currently they are part of products which are exclusively manufactured by this Company. Within the last years Company worked hard to increase the number and diversity of its products.

In the year 2001, upon the decisions of Organization's Management, on the transfer of production line of Atra Pharmaceutical Factory, this Company left its single product position (from dosage form point of view).

Presently, in addition to ampoule production lines there is suppository, gel, cream, ointment, and syrup production line, and its products reach 64 different items.

With regards to the Company's extensive area and its proper development potentialities, there are several other projects under consideration and we hope they reach to implementation and operation stages within the coming years.
